New York City’s famed Metropolitan Opera has purchased a complement of Clay Paky Alpha Profile 700 automated spotlights for its lighting inventory.  A.C.T Lighting provided the fixtures to the specifications of Patrick Eagleton of Contemporary Lights.

The Metropolitan Opera has a reputation for carefully selecting gear to add to its equipment roster.  Only the highest quality, most reliable products will meet its strict requirements.

“The Met liked a number of features of the Alpha Profile 700,” reports Brian Dowd, Vice President of Sales at A.C.T Lighting. “Among the attributes that most appealed to them were the fixture’s compact size, even optical field, quiet and precise shutters, smooth dimming curve and silent movement.”

Clay Paky’s Alpha Profile 700 is a 700-watt automated spotlight with framing system.  Focal distances are optimized for an effective framing of well-focused patterns with triangles and quadrangles of all shapes and sizes.  Programming is enormously simplified, thanks to color macros and the Dyna-Cue-Creator function. The Stay-Sharp-Zoom function keeps images in focus while the zoom runs from one beam angle to another, even when projected effects are located on different focal planes.

The Alpha Profile 700 offers extremely high luminous efficiency (28,500 lux at 5 m) in a small, quiet package with three-phase pan/tilt motor for perfectly silent operation.  It features an interchangeable frost filter and a graphic system with seven rotating gobos and a nine-facet prism.  Its modular construction provides easy maintenance as needed.

A.C.T Lighting is the North American distributor for Clay Paky.
