Clay Paky celebrates its 40th anniversary with its employees in the splendid setting of "Città Alta By Light”

2016

For its 40th anniversary celebration year, Claypaky chose to throw a party with and for its employees in a very special setting: as part of the “Città Alta By Light” event.

“Città Alta By Light” was designed and set up by the Seriate-based company as part of the international “I Maestri del Paesaggio” (masters of landscape) event from 7 to 25 September 2016. “Città Alta By Light” is an exciting tour of five show lighting installations in Bergamo’s old upper city centre, including Piazza Vecchia (Old Square), Piazza Mercato delle Scarpe (Shoe Market Square), Porta San Giacomo (Saint James’s Gate), the Torre del Gombito (Gombito Tower) and the Torre della Campanella (Tower of the Small Bell).

In Piazza Vecchia, right in the centre of Bergamo’s old upper city, Claypaky found a place to celebrate with its employees for one evening, surrounded by dazzling architectural lighting and temporary architectural installations, such as the picturesque 74½-yard-long raised walkway by Stefan Tischer.

“Claypaky’s history is a fascinating journey, marked by numerous successes, during which genuine passion for the world of show lighting and entertainment has been the constant guiding light. Thanks to you, we have conquered the world,” Pio Nahum, Claypaky CEO, proudly said in front of his colleagues. The CEO did not fail to recall with nostalgia Pasquale Quadri, the man who founded the company and led it successfully until 2014, the year of his death, nor did he omit to incite everyone to look towards the future, to achieve increasingly ambitious goals.

Commemorative plaques were awarded to the following employees, with thirty or more years of service, as a sign of gratitude for their enthusiasm and the sense of belonging they have shown over the years: Valter Rossi, Piera Imberti, Antonio Cortinovis, Giovanni Palazzini, Alessandro Federici, Amilcare Tironi and Guglielmo Aristolao.

To add to the festivities, Claypaky also organized some entertainment under the porticos of Palazzo della Ragione in Piazza Vecchia: an accessory fashion parade and a DJ at his console, offered by Maddalena Vidale Design.

The lighting was provided jointly by Claypaky and Milleluci. The commemorative gobos for the event were kindly offered by Goboservice, the Brugherio-based company that specializes in producing high-quality textural gobos for the world of lighting.
