The Europa Park of Rust, near Freiburg, has been enriched by an important new attraction: a new and welcoming hotel! The “Colosseo” Hotel was inaugurated this summer with a large party in the style of Ancient Rome. On this gala occasion, Italian actress Claudia Cardinale symbolically handed over the keys of the 4 star-luxury hotel to Roland, Jürgen and Franz Mack, the owners of the amusement park. The typically Mediterranean façades of the hotel acted as a backdrop for the whole of the evening’s programme. The Alpha Spot HPE and Alpha Wash from Clay Paky were outstanding in the centre of the lighting system.
As well as the Alphas, Stage Color 1200, Stage Zoom 1200, Golden Scan HPE and Stage Scan, all Clay Paky projectors, were also used to create the most suitable ambience for the evening. Thanks to the gobos, the prisms and the colour system, the Italian company’s projectors offer a very extensive range of effects for the most demanding users and were ideal in creating the impression in the guests minds that they were in Italy. Tent Event of Freiburg looked after the setting up of the light system.
The Alpha projectors, at their debut here in Germany, gave proof of extraordinary brightness, due to the combination of a 575 W discharge lamp with an optic group having a very high light output. The Alpha Spot HPE are spots that use an optic group of the latest generation, with 10°-40° linear electronic zoom and electronic focusing, CMY colour mixing and 7-colour wheel, linear CTO, 3 gobo wheels (2 rotating gobo wheels + 1 fixed gobo wheel), rotating prisms and a special animation disc.
The Alpha Wash have an amazing zoom that allows the beam to be opened from 4° up to 80°, allowing perfectly homogenous colour diffusion, even with close-up projections. They offer CMY colour mixing, colour wheel, linear CTO, linear frost and a 0-100% dimmer of new conception.
About 700 famous guests celebrated the inauguration of the Colosseo. Built in the style of Ancient Rome, the inner court of the Colosseo consists of a very extensive piazza with typical cafes, bars and restaurants from where the guests can enjoy the view of the Imperial Tribune, which reproduces the original spirit of the amphitheatre.
Hot news: The Hotel Colosseo was awarded a prestigious recognition on 6 October 2004. It is the “Hotel Property of the Year “ received at the “Hotelforum 2004”, namely an “Oscar” ceremony for hotels.
