South Africa –Clay Paky has been ‘overwhelmed’ by the positive response to its South African product Roadshow. An impressive number of lighting professionals took time out from their busy schedules to attend demonstrations in venues in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.

Interest seemed to increase day by day as The Clay Paky South African Roadshow, hosted by exclusive South Africa distributor for Clay Paky, DWR Distribution, kicked off on Monday 30 July 2012 at their Johannesburg premises.

Clay Paky’s Massimo Bolandrina and Gianluca Breda presented demonstrations of Clay Paky fixtures including the new Shotlight Wash and Sharpy along with fixtures from the Alpha Range of spots and washes.

“The open day was extremely well attended and I am delighted with the outcome,” says Bolandrina. “Attendees came from all sectors of the industry including events, venues, rental businesses – small and large. We certainly saw way more professionals than we had expected. DWR has an excellent and very friendly team of knowledgeable lighting professionals who know and get on with the South African market very well.”

Duncan Riley from DWR was similarly impressed: “I was blown away by the number of professionals that attended. They never stopped coming through the door, but it was amazing. Thank you to everyone who came, it was great to see everyone.”

Clay Paky is a company driven by young dynamic minds, and has high expectations for its range of performance fixtures: “I see a good future for Clay Paky,” says Bolandrina, Clay Paky Area Manager. “We are not slowing down. We’re constantly thinking of the future, new developments, applications and of course new products”.

After the success of the Johannesburg show the Clay Paky and DWR team continued their tour, taking the full range of fixtures to Durban and Cape Town.

Clay Paky appointed Johannesburg based DWR Distribution, well known for its high standard of project work and large network of industry clients, as its exclusive distributor for South Africa in June 2012.

The appointment is a direct response to the continued growth in the creative and entertainment industries in South Africa, a sector that, according to the Department of Trade and Industry, is valued at around R7.4-billion per year.

Bolandrina added: “I urge both new and existing players to call on DWR’s experience, knowledge and capability in all things lighting technology and discover for themselves what Clay Paky products can bring to their own projects and businesses.”
