Clay Paky Alphas were recently installed inside the Khan Shatyr Entertainment Centre, an enormous marquee erected in Astana, the new capital of Kazakhstan. Astana is a modern city located on the Kazakh steppe with a rather inhospitable climate. It is particularly cold during the long Asian winters (reaching -35°C!) and very hot and sultry in the summer (up to 35°C).

The centre is the new reference point for the civil life of the country, and acts both as a social and cultural meeting place. It is possible to watch and take part in a whole range of activities inside, in an air conditioned environment that ensures comfortable surroundings all year round. It houses shops, cafés, restaurants, cinemas and multipurpose areas, which may be adapted to a rich schedule of events and shows.

The lights include brand new Alpha Beam 1500s, which are used especially to attract the public and during live events, and Alpha Spot HPE 300s for the interior design. The lighting system was installed by SF DIŞ TİCARET A.Ş., a Turkish company based in Ortaköy, which has distributed Clay Paky lights for years.

The project was implemented by Linea Tusavul Architecture and Gultekin Architecture
