The Teatro Comunale di Bologna presented the renowned musical “Kiss of the Spider Woman”, performed by the vocal ensemble of the Bernstein School of Musical Theatre, Bologna, accompanied by the Orchestra del Conservatorio G. Frescobaldi, Ferrara in cooperation with the Scuola dell’Opera Italiana. The musical, produced by Gianni Marras, is based on the novel by Manuel Puig, which also rose to fame thanks to a film version with Oscar-winning William Hurt and Raúl Juliá. “Kiss of the Spider Woman” is considered by many to be a true masterpiece of the 1990s, as well as being one of the best works by the renowned duo Kander & Ebb.
The musical is sensuous, disturbing, spectacular and moving, and has won many of the most important theatrical prizes. John Kander’s music is a mix of Latin American sound and classic and modern Broadway, supported by Fred Ebb’s deep heartfelt lyrics.

The show was illuminated using the Clay Paky Alpha Wash 1200s and Alpha Profile 1200s belonging to the Teatro Comunale di Bologna. The lighting was designed by Daniele Naldi.
