The Sud Expo Music, organised by Musica&Musica on the 12th and 13th March at the “Cupole Geodetiche” in Cosenza, was the first exhibition devoted to music in the south, and was inaugurated by the councillorship for Industry of the region of Calabria.
The exhibition saw the participation of more than a hundred exhibitors belonging to the sector of “products and services for entertainment purposes” including: constructors, retailers, distributors, light, audio and video services, installers and set designers. This is a further demonstration of the importance attributed by the Region to this sector, after the unforgettable free Vasco Rossi concert held in September last year, an extraordinary event for the organisation and participation, that aroused the attention of the entire Continent.
Stefano Carelli and Remo Florio’s Dee Jay Service was present at this exhibition with two stands. One in the dome dedicated to lighting effects, and the other in that dedicated to audio. In the first stand, projectors from the Clay Paky Alpha range, of which Dee Jay Service is an exclusive distributor for Calabria and Basilicata, were exhibited.
Alpha Wash Halo is the most recent of this range of moving body projectors, and features 1000 w (3200 K) halogen lamp, 14°-64° linear zoom, indexable ovalizing filter and the motorised “top hat”: an extremely innovative product which is intended for professional use and where the colour temperature and the typical advantages of a halogen lamp are required. Also on this stand, which measured nearly 50m², other products in the Clay Paky range were on display, from Stage Color moving bodies and Stage Lights to the CP Color, up until the intelligent Point micro-colour changers.
In the stand located in the audio section, Dee Jay Service exhibited Outline, Sound Box, Stage Case and Litec and, in particular, the new line-array of the Butterfly series, which sets a new standard in the audio sector. The products in this line are in fact capable of emanating the perfect sound over many metres, and each cluster covers a 90° corner. A special programmable piece of software studies the area to be covered and simulates the pressure and response of frequency of any point there within. A comparative demonstration was carried out in the square of the exhibition, where the Outline products were surely capable of proving their winning characteristics.
In the two days of the exhibition, the Sud Expo fair in Cosenza received numerous visitors coming from all over Italy, and established itself as an important reference point for the sector of products and services for entertainment, even for the future.
