GERMANY – The VideoDays Festival is today considered the most important YouTuber event in Europe. It began in 2010 when various YouTube stars and their fans gathered for the first time at the Cologne exhibition centre during the Gamescon trade fair. Since then, new attendance records have been broken every year, causing it to move to the multi-purpose Lanxess Arena in Cologne in 2013.

Lighting designer Björn Hermann and lighting operator Dominik Döhler were called in to deal with illuminating this year’s edition. Hermann chose 46 Claypaky Mythos² units to light the event, which he skilfully added to the arena’s existing lighting rig.

Hermann explained the reasons behind his choice: “ever since the celebrations held in Berlin for the 25th anniversary of the fall of the wall, I’ve never been anywhere without Claypaky Mythos lights. They are my favourites for their power output, the variety of gobos they fit, and the many features they offer. In my opinion, Claypaky Mythos lights are unique and unrivalled in settings like this.”

PRG provided the lights.
