Claypaky returns on the road with Italian rock legend Vasco Rossi, supporting his highly anticipated “Vasco Live 2025” stadium tour with a lighting rig featuring more than 250 Claypaky fixtures.
“Vasco Live 2025” is the official name of the tour, which runs across Italy between May and June 2025 and includes 13 completely sold-out stadium shows. For this new production, an all-new lighting design was created around Claypaky’s latest IP66-rated fixtures, delivering a powerful and immersive visual experience tailored to large outdoor venues.
Lighting Designer Giovanni Pinna developed a dynamic and expressive lighting concept using a combination of 145 Claypaky Ultimo Hybrid units, 72 Volero Cube fixtures, and 36 Arolla Aqua luminaires. “The lighting design included four fixture types – wash, beam, spot, and effects,” explains Pinna, “giving us the flexibility to shape the show’s energy and dynamics across different songs and visual moments.”
Within the rig, the Arolla Aqua fixtures played a key technical and artistic role. “We used 26 Arolla Aqua units specifically for the tracking system,” says Pinna, “delivering a sharp backlight on Vasco and the band. Another 10 fixtures were placed frontally, always on, to add definition and dynamic accents to the scenes.”
The Volero Cube fixtures stood out as a distinctive creative element within the show’s visual language. “We used them as a special,” Pinna notes. “Despite being fewer in number compared to the other moving heads, they played a key role in creating atmospheric moments, sometimes taking over the scene entirely.”
As for the Ultimo Hybrid, the fixtures exceeded expectations throughout the tour. “They really surprised me: powerful, versatile, and incredibly reliable,” Pinna adds. “The 550W discharge lamp performed brilliantly, especially in beam mode with gobos. They exceeded every expectation.”
All Claypaky fixtures used on the tour belong to the Shield Family, an IP66-certified range engineered to set a new benchmark for weather-resistant lighting. Designed for demanding outdoor environments, these fixtures offer high performance, durability, longevity, and reduced maintenance, allowing the production team to focus entirely on the show.
The lighting system for the tour was supplied by rental company BOTW, with Arolla Aqua and Volero Cube fixtures provided by Lucidiscena. Audiosales is the official Italian distributor for Claypaky.
