Claypaky debuts several exciting new products at LDI 2022 and wins the "BEST CREATIVE USE OF LIGHT” award

Claypaky presented a range of advanced, innovative products at LDI 2022, many of which had been launched earlier this year. They show the extremely wide range of show lighting solutions Claypaky offers our industry today: fixtures with white and multicolor LED light sources, laser-driven moving heads, and units with discharge lamps. Claypaky also supplies equipment specifically designed for the theatre world and for outdoor use, as well as workhorse products for use in a wide variety of environments, and of course its range of unique effect lights, which are a must on the market today.

The VOLERO WAVE, which made its world premiere at this year’s LDI, is the most recent of these. It is a unique LED bar, made up of a system of eight moving heads, each one independently capable of a 220° tilt, thus producing never-seen-before three-dimensional volumetric projections. Each of these heads contains a brand-new mirror-based optical system combined with RGBW LEDs: the innovative concept behind Volero Wave was to be able to move the entire light source on its axis, thus preserving the same intensity of the light flux in any position of the tilt range. Their synchronized movement produces an impressive wave of light, all the more overwhelming the more Volero Wave units you seamlessly connect to each other.

The Volero Wave was among the most prominent units that enlivened the glittering presentation-light show designed by Claypaky’s LD Marco Zucchinali, which won the LDI award for “BEST CREATIVE USE OF LIGHT”. Marco Zucchinali, who received the award together with George Masek, told us: “I am very happy our lighting solutions were appreciated by an attentive, professional audience and jury, such as we have grown to expect in the US. The Volero Wave in particular delivers unparalleled visual impact. It produces never-seen-before three-dimensional, volumetric effects, thanks to its eight moving heads, which tilt independently over a very wide angle. I mounted all the Volero Wave fixtures on Panify units at our booth, which added an additional pan motion with endless rotation. With this combination, Claypaky offers arguably the most innovative and dynamic effects package on the market.”

Other effect lights recently launched on the market by Claypaky include: the VOLERO BATTEN AQUA, Claypaky’s high-performance LED moving batten, featuring IP66 protection rating. TAMBORA LINEAR, an advanced line of static LED Pixel mapping bars designed for versatile lighting effects and artistic set decoration; TAMBORA FLASH, the only hybrid fixture on the market that can act simultaneously as a strobe, wash and blinder.

The XTYLOS range, a growing family of laser-driven moving heads, also stood out at LDI. Since its introduction in 2019, the Claypaky Xtylos has been a mainstay on some of the largest productions and tours around the globe. This is the first of its kind laser-based lighting fixture to receive approval and the required variance from the United States Food and Drug Administration for use in the United States. Claypaky’s comprehensive training program teaches our users how to safely operate this fixture in compliance with FDA regulations and obtain the variance necessary to own and operate this groundbreaking fixture. With the built-in safety features, the Xtylos is safe to use for any production and adds unmatched visual elements. Claypaky is continuously creating the next perspective, with the XTYLOS AQUA featuring marine-grade C5-M protection and with the MINI XTYLOS HPE, more energy efficient than any other beam fixture so far…. and more is yet to come!

Claypaky introduced SINFONYA PROFILE 600, a unique low noise LED based fixture, conceived and developed exclusively for the theater market. This product features TONEDOWNTM for a low noise operation (27dB), ACCUFRAMETM (new framing system using 2 focal planes: 40 times more precise than traditional framing systems), New Proprietary Optical System (featuring an impressive 5° to 60° Zoom); Five-color LED Light engine (RGBAL) controlled by a special, internally developed firmware algorithm; New Calibration Syncing for matching the color temperatures to other fixtures; Absolute Position for the advanced PAN & TILT control; LINEGUARD, a new frost system using two pair of blades. Sinfonya Profile 600 is the truly next generation of lighting for Theatres.

The SHARPY X FRAME is a multifunction luminaire. It takes the best features of the Sharpy line and integrates a four-focal plane shutter system in a lightweight, compact unit. As a completely hybrid, multifunction fixture, the SHARPY X FRAME not limited as to beam effects, it can also be a spot, profile, or wash unit.

Claypaky’s quest for innovation has always been constant and ongoing, and this was evident at LDI where Claypaky offered a preview of its important innovations for the months to come. Some of these products will debut as early as the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) show in late January 2023. Stay Tuned!

“CP GREEN” SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT BY CLAYPAKY

Claypaky Achieves Key Milestone in its “CP Green” Sustainability Project by Gaining ISO 14064-1:2018 Certification as the First Entertainment Lighting Company being certified in the Carbon Inventory Management System.

In March 2022, Claypaky launched its “CP Green – Spotlight on Sustainability” initiative for environmental sustainability. Believing that what is not measured cannot be improved, Claypaky took the first step of understanding, quantifying and analysing its current carbon footprint using the ISO 14064-1:2018 norm and achieving certification via a third-party auditing process.  Developed by the International Standards Organization, a non-governmental organization in Geneva, Switzerland, ISO 14064 offers policy makers and organizations a ready foundation of best practices upon which to build a GHG (Greenhouse Gases) reduction program to address the global environmental challenge of climate change. Claypaky successfully completed this first part of its initiative and is proud to have become the first company in the entertainment lighting industry to receive certification in the carbon inventory management system.

As its next step, Claypaky is working on the development of a comprehensive carbon management plan with concrete measures regarding how to reach carbon neutrality within its operations latest by 2030.  This will include both the purchase of carbon credits and reduction measures aimed at more sustainable management of various activities linked to operations and product innovation, such as installation of a self-catering photovoltaic system or innovation roadmap for low energy consuming products
